Are you ready for changes in your life?
I am Daniel Morrison and I want to support you in whatever you’re going through. I believe that everyone has the capacity to change, or to embrace the changes that are happening in their life. Counselling is a space which is just for you, to speak about whatever is present in your life right now and be heard. We can explore your patterns, your stories, what’s working for you and where you’d like things to be different. It’s confidential and I’ll never judge or criticise you. It’s an opportunity to have somebody hear you and accept you just as you are, a place to explore your options without being told what to do.

I am a nonbinary trans man, a writer and parent to my teenagers. My background is in working therapeutically in residential settings with young people who have emotional and behavioural disorders, neurodiversity or a background of trauma and abuse. I’m qualified primarily in person centred counselling and EMDR although I draw on other therapeutic approaches as needed.
EMDR is a well researched form of therapy focussed on reprocessing trauma. It can reduce or eliminate symptoms like flashbacks, intrusive thoughts and overwhelming emotional reactions to triggers. Trauma is any event which the brain isn't able to process at the time. Because the event isn't processed and stored away like other memories, it can be awakened by unrelated things and the body reacts as if the trauma was happening now. Using eye movements EMDR supports the brain to sort and store traumatic memories as events which happened in the past. The body learns to feel safe in the present moment without emotional flooding or distressing reactivity.
I offer 90 minute EMDR sessions online or in person, with a standard fee of £110.
I offer 50 minute talking therapy sessions online, with a standard fee of £60.
I believe therapy should be accessible for everyone. Higher earners can choose to pay more to contribute to a fund for those not able to afford therapy, which I match myself.
If cost is a barrier please get in touch, reduced places are available. Sessions can be twice weekly, weekly or fortnightly depending on availability and need.
Seeking support can be a big decision, and the key to effective therapy is finding a therapist you feel comfortable with. The relationship between the client and the therapist is more important than any other factor in determining how useful therapy is. I offer a free 30 minute meeting or call before sessions begin, so we can get to know each other and decide if we want to work together without any cost or commitment. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and work to their Ethical Framework.
